I'm new to this forum; perhaps someone could toss me a bone. :)

Currently all of my forms are sending out the same mail twice. It doesn't matter what the outgoing mail server is or what the timeout is; they always send out the mail twice.

I looked in CFIDE/administrator/ for clues regarding this and haven't found a thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, I don't know if this makes a difference, but I accidentally restarted cfserver after moving the CFIDE directory out of the DocumentRoot. (I moved the CFIDE dir back into the DocumentRoot and then restarted the server, but it doesn't seem to have affected anything.)

Thanks for any help you can give me!

It's possible that your mail server is mis-configured and is sending these out twice. I would watch the cfusion\mail\spool directory and see what happens after you submit a form. You should see a file created that corresponds to your mail message. If you see two, then CF is sending it twice (I'll assume you aren't using the CC feature). If it's only sending it once and you're getting two copies, try sending an e-mail through the smtp server with a normal mail client such as Eudora and address it to the same address that your form is sending to. If this generates two messages, then the problem is with your mail server. It doesn't, post the code for your <cfmail> tag and someone in the forums should be able to spot any problem.

Actually, as it turned out, here was the fix I found (sigh, this is so dumb):

During the initial install of CF, the only way the install would go though on our Solaris machine was if it installed the CFIDE tools into DocumentRoot/CFIDE.

However, the cf.registry file was looking for DocumentRoot/cfide.

So we made a symlink from cfide to CFIDE.

However, the symlink disappeared on the 26th, and as a result, the registry didn't know where to find CFIDE, so it started, to use a technical term, freaking out. :)

I have replaced the symlink and the CFMail problem appears to have been repaired. Weird.
