If a CFIF criteria is not met, does ColdFusion process that information? Or does it simply pass over that statement?

It seems that is unclear in any Allaire documentation that I have been looking at.

It will simply pass over everything until it gets to a <CFELSE>, <CFELSEIF> or </CFIF>, however the parser will catch errors like missing required endtags (a <CFOUTPUT without a </CFOUTPUT>, for example) or non-matching pound signs within the statement....

Even code that isn't processed is still parsed for validity.
So any code inside your CFIF statement wills till show up any errors.

Russ Michaels
russ@satachi.com
<a href= Internet Development
For my personal book recommendations visit
