Could someone give me a few instructions as how to setup Call Forwarding for the MICS to my Cellphone? I would it to transfer to my cell whether it be an internal transfer or an external caller dialing my DID. Also, if someone from inside the company dials my internal extension, it also redirect to my cellphone.

Also, Is it possible to set up 2 CF buttons on my phone? Say 1 to forward to my cell if i'm out on a call and the other to forward directly to my house if i've left for the evening?

Thanks in Advance!!

condition based call forwarding not avbl (except for Call fwd on busy and no answer)
Ext call fwd is avbl from 4.1 onwards (enable external redirect)

F4, access code, number

You have to set Allow redirect to yes in the capabilities programming for the set. You also have to use call routing for all out going calls. If you are using a PRI for your out bound calling the latter should already be done.

If both things are already set up all you have to do is press call forward or feature 4, then enter the telephone number you want to forward to. i.e. 98415551212

You can program the number as an auto dial on your phone by pressing feature *1, press the button to program, then enter the number - 98415551212. Then when you want to forward your set simply press the call forward button then the auto dial button and your set.

To cancel the forwarding press the call forward key agian or feature #4

I have do have PRI and we use rout001. Thanks for the advice.

I'm using PRI and MICS 6.1. When I try to type in the external forwarding number, it says invalid number?? What am i doing wrong??

You need to turn on Allow Redirect for that phone. It is located under Capabilities.

Check the External Code, is it 9? If so, change it to none. External Code is under System Programming/Access Codes.

Got it to work!

Question though...

When someone from the outside dials my DID directly it forward quick. If someone dials my DID internally, it rings twice, then there's silence for 5 seconds or so and the rings my cell. Is there anyway to make internal transfers or Auto attendant transfers transfer as quick as someone dialing my DID direct??

By the way, if anyone has been reading the other threads in regards to the arguing... Just to let you know I am a certified Nortel tech. I usually install MICS with PRI's and haven't ever really messed around with the call forwarding part. I appreciate everyones help on this topic.

DID calls come in and go back out on PRI immediately, internally transferred calls have to access PRI first and then pass digits and wait for call to process normally.

Can't think of anyway around that off hand but if you're only talking about a few seconds delay, I'd say it's not really an issue.

The only real delay is that I have it set up in capabilities to forward no answer to my cell (that's the only way i've found that it will forward on an internal call) and with it being set up in there it has to ring twice in my office before it will access the "no answer" portion and then grabs a channel to dial out on.

Well now, that's an interesting approach that I never tried before. I'm thinking that you should be able to forward all calls out with Feature 4 though.

I initially thought that too? I had f4 setup to forward and dialed internally and it rang 4 times and went to CP. I then dialed my DID directely and it forward to my cell. I will try again though when I get in the office tomorrow and let you know the outcome. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions or something that I may not be doing correctly.

should be F4 (desti code + number)
If you get "Invalid Number" when you try to enter the Desti code then you do not have redirect turned on for that phone.

You ARE using your PRI access code to forward out with right?

Yea. It forwards fine with F4 on direct dialed DID's. Just if someone internally dials my extension it didn't work through F4 so I set up forward no answer in capabilites and 2 rings...

Hmm...Works like a champ on here my MICS 5.0 with pots lines.

Maybe a restriction filter on the originating set or a destination code ommission or conflict?

Not sure. We use 9 as our destination code. I'll give it a shot again tomorrow and let you know the outcome.
