Hi everyone!

I was wondering if it is possible to connect a Meridian 5208 (centrex) to a standard phone line POTS(non-centrex). I would like to use the programmable buttons for speed dials and possibly have CLID. Is this possible, or will the unit simply not function without the Digital Centrex at the CO? Is there a piece of equipment that will convert the standard line into something that the 5208 would recognize (centrex emulation)? This phone will be connected to a Sipura ATA for VoIP purposes.

Thanks,
Matthew

no, if memorey serves me right, you can't use a digital centrex phone on a pots line. they do make a analog style test set that gives you line one on a digital set, but i've never seen a digital to analog converter. the feature buttons on the 08 are not stored in the local set, but in the central office
