I know i have seen this in this forum before but the search engine is down.

How do I program "link" in a dial string? I want to use this for outbound transfers on a call pilot100.

commsguy

A hookflash transfer occurrs on one circuit from the telco.
It is a centrex feature that is widely available on normal loop start CO lines when programmed by the telco.

CG,
The AA by itself won't do this. I haven't tried to set this up using CCR outbound transfer but have done successfully with the mailbox outbound transfer from the new CPs. This feature is available in recent NAMs too. I suggest you program CCR outbound xfer same as mailbox and see what happens.

PhM

CG,
Two last items: Centrex 'hook flash' transfer is activated as a feature on your CO lines; and
'link' is F71. You can program F71 as you are enterning digits to your dial string. System will accept them.

PhM

The issue is this call comes in on line 001. I want to be able to transfer to an outside number (ie cell phone) by using Centrex. This would require me being able to use F71 on Line 001 and then dialing the outside number. The outbound transfer requires you to select a pool, line or intercom. There is no way to specify outbound transfer on the same line the call has come in on.

Simple outbound transfer is not the problem here. I want to transfer the call without ever using a second line.

CG,
Correct. Usage of this feature is the following.
Incomming call.
Caller achieves mailbox.
Caller dials 7.
CP100 is programmed for Link Transfer.

To do this manually, you press the link or flash button on a phone and then dial the number and hang up. So an anlalogous program in the CCR tree might look like:

Pool code: 9 F78 F71 xxx xxxx F71 F*89

Try it and find out. Again ensure this feature activated at your telco.

When you are using a voicemailbox to transfer (Norstar's name is :Outbound transfer) a call out to a cell phone or other phone you have to have a NAM with norstar voicemail 4.0 or better. the mailbox must have outdial enabled (I use pool) in mailbox system admin

on the mailbox that will make the transfer, log in,
press 8 (admin)
press 8 (outdial admin)
press 1 (admin);
press 1 (phone)
Press # (done entering digits want to enter special characters)
press 5 (inserts a # in dial string
press 2 (done with special characters want to enter digits)
press 9 (the centrex outside line access code ie 9)
press 555 1234 (enter the phone number to be transferred to)
press # (done entering digits)
press # (accept the number)
Press 1 (turn outbound transfer on)
press * (Quit)
press RLS (Quit session)

when a person is either listining to the mailbox's greeting or while they are recording their message, pressing a 7 will initiate the outbound transfer.

for outbound transfer from a CCR tree:
(go to the Path: prompt where you want to establish an outbound transfer)
enter path number
press OK
Press Other
Press XFER
Press EXT
Press POOL
Press OK
Press Phone
press # (start using special characters)
Press 5 (Enters a # in the dial string for outbound transfer)
Press 2 (done with special digits want to enter numbers)
press 9 (centrex dial code)
enter phone number to be transfered to

If you want to insert a pause after the 9 access code (to give centrex a chance to get dial tone back or if you have problems with the dialed number)
press # (start using special characters)
Press 3 (Enters a 4 second pause in the dial string)
(a 4 would enter a "wait for dial tone" into the dial string)
Press 2 (done with special digits want to enter numbers)

I just checked it out again and it does do a hook flash centrex transfer just make sure that the # or #d are the first digits in the phone number that you see displayed in the admin area. I checked it out both ways since we are using it for that reason on both our CCR and some mailboxes. but like I said make sure that the # or #d show up before the 9 for centrex outside access.

I am trying to do this on a CP100. I am not grasping how to get past specifying a line pool so that the CP100 does not grab an availabe line.

What am i missing here?

commsguy

JR,
Not at all what I meant. I gave you the star. You had a better, more accurate and detailed answer for the poster. I only meant to let you know I appreciated your answer too!!

Cheers
