Is there a cell character limit in Excel? I type in characters in a cell but after a while the characters are being typed over each other in the last line. If I am in the particular cell it looks ok, but when I click out of the cell the last line jumbles up. Is there a limit on characters per cell?

Straight out of help, using 'specifications' as keyword:-

Length of cell contents (text) 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar.

Can monkey with it somewhat using ALT+ENTER to force line breaks etc, but generally, the text says it all.

Regards
Ken............

I've encountered this problem before, as our users prefer to use Excel as a table in word. The only method to fix this type of thing was to split the cell into two separate ones, and make it so that the border didn't show between the two split cells. I don't know if that will work for you though...
