Most systems will allow booting from CD.
Check the BIOS for the boot sequence, it's probably set to A, C, SCSI or somesuch.
Boot to the floppy, fdisk and format the drive, then restart, and go into BIOS setup.
In the boot sequence part, look for CD-ROM, C, A and set it to that.
Restart the computer, with the Windows CD in the drive.
Alternatively, you can get a good bootdisk from
that includes CD-ROM drivers, or if you've got a friend with windows98/98SE/ME, get them to make you a boot disk, which includes CD-ROM support, and use that. Cheers,
