Hi everyone. I recently Re-installed Win2K Pro on my machine (I replaced my main board and was having problems). Everything seemed ok until I went to make a CD. Now My CDR is a Mitsumi CR-4801TE (IDE). I have flashed the firmware on it. It reads CD's ok, plays them and I can access them. It even recognizes I input a CDR. So I can do everything I need to. Prepare files for copy and select what speed. and start the copy process. Thats when it takes a nose dive. The R/W light stays green (Its supposed to turn RED when it copies) and the application freezes. Windows does not lock up just the CDR and application. I have tried Adaptect EZ CD creator 4.02, Nero 5 and CD Burn. All same results. I have to note this thing was fine until I replaced my main board and reinstalled Win2K. Any one have any thoughts on it. I have been fighting it for 2 weeks and am tired of fighting. I cant afford to purchase another.

System Specs are:

Thanks paulwood but I figured out my problem. It all has to do with the intel ATA100 patch. I uninstalled this patch and it records fine now. Now I cant run my ATA100 HDD in ATA100, only UDMA66 mode. That is bad. Guess I will have to replace it with a newer drive someday. Agin thanks for the assistance.
