I am trying to set up a call accounting package (eCAS from Veramark) using the CDR output from the IP Office. I have set everything up as the instructions advise, but I can't get the IP Office to send the CDR records to a file. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get the CDR to start working, or do I have to install Delta Server (eCAS told me that I don't have to install Delta Sever).

I have heard the CDR with ecas does not work well. i had it running on a customer. you need something on the PC to catch all the records that come in.

I have always used Delta Server and not had any issues. This was a while back though.I'm not sure how to do it without delta server. No reason not to go delta,it's very easy.

cdr will not send to a file, it outputs via tcp. you neeed a program such as hyperterminal which will capture the tcp output and set it to save the output to a text file or compatible type.

But if you are saving to a file anyway then don't use cdr use the delta. It is a lot more comprehensive in info that you get from the ip office. CDR will be used in 4.2 apparantly replacing or working alongside the delta.

SMDR will be output like cdr in 4.2 rather than delta server.

so...is Delta Server the only way to go?
