Whats the difference between CDN and ACDN? When would you use CDN? I see a lot of the voicemail pilot DN that are built as a CDN.

CDN - Controlled Directory Number = used by applications such as Symposium or CallPilot. The application has control of all call related data that terminates on the CDN and directs it occordingly.

ACDDN - Automatic Call Distribution Directory Number - Like the name implies,...Calls directed to the ACD DN is automatically distributed to all members that belongs to the ACDDN...a fancier hunt group.

You have to have at least a CDN for CallPilot plain voicemail. Then you add other numbers for things like voice item maintenance, express messaging, etc., but they are not CDNs. They are either phantom DNs or dummy ACD queues that are forwarded to that CDN.
