CD Spanning

Is there a freeware or shareware program, or a technique, that will allow me to span CD's when copying data file(s) that exceed normal CD data capacity?

Currently I am using File Splitter Pro to split a large file into two or more smaller pieces so as to fit on individual CD's. This works but it's cumbersome.

As far as I am aware, WinZip still supports spanning and it is/was very straight forward.
