I tried to install a second hard drive and now I cant see my cd-rom. What should do I do see my CD-ROM drive again?

more info??

Did you set your second hard drive to slave on IDE 1 and your CD-rom as master on IDE2???

Did you check your CDROM in device manager? Try changing the drive letter. Perhaps it is set to the same letter as the hard drive.

Also, check the performance tab (Control Panel->System). Does it say any drives are using "MS-DOS Compatibility"?

Hey there, just a little oversight on your part...U mean to set the CD ROM as "slave" on IDE2 right?

Hey there, CDROM's are set as "slaves" by default, so messing w/ pins are out of the question.(ie: if I interpreted your response to "set..." is correct)

In addition to the other suggestions, ensure that U connect the CDROM to IDE2 at the correct point on the IDE2's ribbon cable. Furthermore, after that set the "SECONDARY SLAVE" setting in your BIOS to "Auto". Re-boot syst.

CD-ROM cable was unplugged and after reconnecting tha cable, I can see the CD-ROM but when I click on it from the file manager, I get "Disk not ready, pl. try" error. I have a cd in the CD-ROM drive.
