I have a CD-RW drive and a DVD drive. I need to have both of them on the secondary IDE channel. Which should be master and which one should be the slave?

CD-ROM jumpers

Quite correct but old habbits die hard I guess and so I always put the CDRW as master on the end of the ribbon cable, DVD rom or CD Slave on the middle piggy! Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.
