Hi

I've happily plodded along in the past on my hp machine and burnt both audio and data cd's.

The drive though is a combi cd writer and dvd writer
I've just downloaded and used dvd fab and burnt a dvd which worked perfectly.

the older cd-r discs still work fine in the sep dvdrom drive

However i went last night to burn a cd-r disc and the pc just doesn't know a disc is there. the minute i put in a dvd+rw it sees the disc and burns to this.

Is there anything obvious here? I've tried with new imation cd-r that always worked in the past or adding to one that i know theres space on having been read on the other drive.

is it that the drive has set something to not read fast enough for a cd in the reg settings and how do i check this?

cheers for any help

Andy

See if uninstalling the new DVD burning software helps.

Sadly I tried that and it made no difference at all.

I could i guess roll the system back to a time before the software was installed and re-try.
