CD not displaying files in explorer?

Hi all,

I'm having a very odd problem with my XP laptop someone has given me a multisession CD with someimages on i placed it in my drive and copied the images to my HD, later on they returned with the same CD but with extra images on when i put it in my drive the images are not there only the previouse ones. I have put the CD in a Win2k box and the images are there so why is XP remembering what was on the disk before.

Anyone had this befor?

This may seem a little vague but I feel it might be worth a look.

I had a not too dissimilar problem some time ago and discovered that within the CD drive in questions Properties(It was my Burner drive),there had appeared a ticked box which instructed the drive to be enabled for a particular format of media. I must confess I don't recall what format but it is very relevant to the many types of CD compilation formats there is now.

Once I un-ticked the box my CD-R/RW read all my CD's again no problem.

Not to worry i opened the disc with Nero and it told me the disk still had an open session but as it wasn't opened in Nero it couldn't close it, bit odd but i think i'll see how it goes.

I've had the Acer laptop a year with no probs but this keeps happening when the same person brings me a disc so i suspect it's their problem.
