I have an old Atapi cdrom drive and whenever I insert a new disk, the title doesn't change. Im on WinXP sp2. I tried to write files to a cdr and I get a message saying the cd is full. I tried a few blank cdrs and all the same. Any ideas?

Thanks

What happens when you right click the drive and select properties? Have you tried a different cd burning program? Has this CD burner worked on a different computer before?

Perhaps the mechanism which tells the Drive that the CD has been changed is broken...may need replacing...

Yeah, good point, and cdr drives are so cheap nowadays it might be easiest to just replace it.

Do you have CD Recording enabled via the Properties check box?

Indicates that you can copy files to the CD. You can only enable CD recording for one device at a time.
