Ok...

I have win 2k pro. I have ttried using 2 different CD Drives. I ran a scan disk, spy bot, and ad ware. All found nothing. I keep getting a message saying I unplugged or ejected my cd drive. Then I cannot access my CD-Rom at all unless I reboot or go into Add/remove hardware and readd it.

Any thoughts?

Where you using the same drivers when you swapped between the 2 cd drives?

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

Each drive has its own drivers, that was the first thing I checked.

I just had a few new updates from Windows, am seeing if that changes anything.

You may need to take a step with your BIOS settings and ask it to rededect the new hardware.

I do not think this a malware issue such as a virus.

Often this is the result of installing incompatable burner software for the drive, or removing a burner application.

You might consider refreshing your ASPI layer:
