I installed WinXP Pro but errors "BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO" and "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" keeps popping up everytime I turn on my PC after being shut down for a while. After 3 restarts minimum, everything goes smooth. I searched about MS discussion on these, and understood most. One thing I'd like to ask: What's WinXP's CD burning software, Adaptec Easy CD something or Roxio's EZ CD Creator something? Am not sure if these causes BSOD, but I want to remove them anyway. I have Nero Burning Rom software already installed but it is most likely the default software hasn't been removed yet. How do I remove or disable that software?

Tnx for any help.

XP's inbuilt CD Burning software was written especially for XP by Roxio.

If you have Nero installed, you must make sure that you have all the latest XP drivers from Nero. The first thing Nero would do on installation is to disable XP's burning software.

What version of Nero is it? What did the Compatibility Program say when you ran it?

I'm not on my personal PC right now, but I'm sure my version works on Win2K. And to what I understand, application constructed to work under Win2K won't be having troubles win WinXP. Anyway, I'll check on that, too.

Okay, if Roxio's can be disabled, will I be able to uninstall it as well?

You can't uninstall the built in Roxio software but Nero will disable it and it should be no problem. You need Nero 5.5.9 to be safe with XP, if you have an earlier version of 5.5 there is a free upgrade on the Nero site.
I recommend you do not install InCD, they claim the latest version works with XP but I have had BSOD problems with it. All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

The Compatibility Program didn't said anything about my Nero, but, I'll take Mulga's advice to be at the safe side. Tnx to both of you.
