Guys I am not sure if this is hardware or software but could anyone tell me what this error message means and what the problem is???

E80041931: Trackwriter error - CD read failed - [T7124]

Just to let you know my CD-Burner is not working and I have tried a different burner in the system, re-installing software and O/S, my last guess is maybe is it the sound card or motherboard, CPU maybe????
The CD's read but they won't burn!!!

Please help!!!!!

T7124 Win32CD command failed.

A command failed in reading from a CD-ROM drive.
Check your SCSI cables, clean the source CD, restart the CD-ROM drive, CD burning software, and perhaps the PC.

couple of questions... are you running XP? if so, make sure the built in burning software is disabled...

I've had nothing but hassles with Roxio EZCD. Try the demo of nero and see if anything changes.

How old are the burners? Have you tried burning with 650 meg CDs? If burner cannot accomodate 700 meg CDs, you will get a burn error every time.

Hi there,

also make sure that you have the ASPI drivers from Adaptec installed... without these some of the burning softwares do not function correctly...

Roxio v5.0 has a problem with WinXP, it needs to get updated drivers from ROXIO directly...

Nero is a nice prog for burning DATA and for creating your own CD's...

CloneCD - probably the best one to one copier...

ISOBUSTER - one of the best recovery/cloning copier...

Alcohol - Hmmm... wont say more about this one...

I am using Nero for general use. If I make backup copies of my protected DVD or CD movies, I use Diskjuggler, this program appears to be able to copy anything at all once you use the raw mode. It takes between 2.5 to 3.5 minutes to copy a video cd at a 40 speed setting. If the originals are badly scratched it takes longer and you can see the write buffer running down. But even if the buffer reaches zero it stops for a moment and continues. No failures so far. I hope this might help you. Greetings

Hi, I have another Problem. I have a CD-R/W that won't read any thing on any disc (CD-rom, R, R/W). I don't think its a hardware problem because I've had the same problem before, with my previous CD-Drives.

It will bring up the properties of the disc.

Running WinXP
CD-R/W is Lite-on 52x24x52

jerrkat - you should start your own thread, to avoid confusion and simply this is one of the rules... but I'll tell you to try the CD r/w in another PC, if it works then you definately know that the CD r/w is ok and you need to concentrate on the cables and deinstalling the drivers for it and have XP reinstall them... if it doesn't work then buy a new one...
