I'm trying to rewrite something to a cdrw. The file I'm trying to rewrite already exists on the cd. I have Windows XP and it gives me a permissions problem when I want to do this. The thing is that I can burn it to a blank cdrw. Any idea how to make this work?

Thanks!

I have deleted the file from the cd so that is should be blank. Do I have to do anything else to the cd?

Try using a program like roxio or anything like that to burn the CD i would start with a fresh format of the disk. then going on from there.

The ability to erase CDRW's is built into XP. As long as the drive is recognized as a recording device, you should be able to right-click the drive and choose "Erase disk..." when there is a CDRW in the drive.

If you don't see that option on the right-click menu, go to Properties of the drive and see if it's under the CD Recording tab.
