On a separate server. Whos done this?? I've been at it all afternoon!!!!! I never get prompted to create a Admin account.

Do I need to go through a full install and setup on the SQL server and then remove or just install the software to create the DB and remove?? Manual is a little grey! (Like my hair now!!)

Also, it seems impossible to deselect the Database Component when installing on the CCR server.

Any enlightenment peeps???

The answer to you question is yes. Its in the manual on in the table at the top of the page titled "IP Office Customer Call Reporter Software Installation".

Yes you need to do a full install.
This will create the necessary database components
When done just remove CCR but leave the database stuff in it.
Then on the CCR server itself do the same installation but you do not need to install the IPOCCR Database (just uncheck it from the list)
Then browse for the SQL server and carry on like normal.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

So can anybody explain why I can't untick "IPOCCR Database" when installing the CCR???? It simply will not let me do it! Either when installing on the SQL server or on the CCR server.

2k8 R2 Standard x64. Logged in AD account is a memeber of Administrators group.

Then i guess you do not have to untick it but just install CCR without installing the SQL on the CCR machine itself.
It is a long time ago so i don't remember it anymore.

RTFM :
Installation Summary
1. Install MS-SQL on the SQL server.
2. Install the IP Office Customer Call Reporter software on the SQL server with all CCR components selected. During the installation, the IPOCCR Database component creates the IP Office Customer Call Reporter database within SQL.
3. Uninstall the IP Office Customer Call Reporter software from the SQL server. This action does not remove the IP Office Customer Call Reporter database created within SQL.
4. After installing the other pre-requisites, install the IP Office Customer Call Reporter software on the IP Office Customer Call Reporter server with the IPOCCR Database component de-selected. When the location of the SQL server is requested, browse to the remote SQL server location.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

Having read the manual, the software won't let me do that!! It's not possible to deselect the IPOCCR Databse component.

Worst thing right now, is I cannot get it to let me create an Administrator. Agaian, the KB says "2. If the standard IP Office Customer Call Reporter Log In screen appears, use the browser's refresh option.
". This doesn't work either.

Installed loads of these without issue (although not with separate SQL), I'm beginning to think there is something seriously worng with the customers servers or the AD account being used.

Other stuff installed on the server?

The SQL server is only running that.

I missed one thing on this, that people may or may not have tried in the past. The new CCR server and SQL server are both under a Citrix M virtual environment. This is using a beast of a blade hardware.

He is now building another hardware 2008 server to give it a go. It means using SQL Express, which he didn't want. But if it works, then thats what we end up with!!

jamie - is it a busy call centre?

if so - DONT USER EXPRESS! it will run out in 6mths!

when installing SQL it should ask for the SQL server then just use a UNC path to the sql server? \\.<SQL Server\<instance>

Do not run CCR on a virtual server!!!
Never ever do that, you will get bitten in the back!
It must be a stand alone server with enough RAM and enough CPU power.
CCR works fine in small call centers but i did not see it run in busy environments.

We have one busy CCR site (100+ agents) and have no issues, aside from SQL Express not being big enough. and they have been told to buy a licensed copy!!!

This one is not busy at all. This is an upgrade and server move (new CCR server position, New SQL server) from R6 to R8. The R6 CCR ran for 3 years and ran up 6GB of data, so not too worried about the data size.

This is my first attempt at CCR on a virtual, and I will never repeat this process!!!!

Thanks fellas

I reckon you should consult your business partner.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Right!!! I got another hardware server from the customer and installed SQL Express/CCR without an issue. Although this was done under the local Server Admin account rather than the domain account.

He then installed on a fresh 2008 server in his Citrix and onto his Full SQL, and it all worked.

It looks like the issues we had were all down the the AD account, even though this account was in the Domain Admins group.

Gotta love it. I want to go back to installing telephone systems away from the customer network!!!!
