Sorry about this, but it may be very basic as my knowledge of sql can fit on the back of the worlds smallest postage stamp. Anyways some background. Previously installed veritas backup exec 9 on a windows 2000 server. I beleive this installs a version of sql, as I get "sql service manager" running now. This is not the problem. The problem is I am now installing an anti-evrything package (stops virus, spam and spyware). This wants to install a database itself, but cannot. It goes through the processes and then gives an error about assigning security to DDBB? Have looked on the server and found a log (shown below). I have looked around and from other advice found, installed mdac 2.8 without any change. Plus I have checked the event logs and found the following warning: "No object list was found in the installation file. Adding an object list to the installation file will improve performance of the system when measuring performance counters. ". So any help would be appreciated, before I go nuts.
