I just enrolled for a login to access SupportConnect. Where the heck is the page where I can download updates/fixes/patches for Arcserve 11.1, let alone a page where I can download updates/fixes/patches for other products????

CA site is nothing but a pile of crap which you have to navigate through, most of the time with no success trying to find your destination.

I just wish my company did not renew the licenses recently but instead go with Veritas.

Look along the left side for "Product Home Pages" and then pick BrightStor ARCserve ARCserve IT from the list. There you will find a pick list for each OS to find the version you want. Here is the URL for the 11.1 download page:

Since you mentioned Veritas did you know that world wide they moved all support to India except for 20 techs. Also wait and see how good Symantec Backup Exec support will be since Veritas is history.

I've used both Arcserve and Veritas for the past 6 years at different clients and I find that Veritas is my choice.

NEVER ONCE did I have to call Veritas; every issue that I had with it has been well-documented clearly with solutions in their knowledgebase. Veritas website is easy to navigate around.

Arcserve, the knowledgebase on its website has to be the worst. Probably a good 70% of all issues that I had are not found in their knowledgebase. I have to find the solutions either on this forum board or do a search with keywords on the net.

And I don't like talking to their techs either. Aren't they in India too or some foreign land? I had trouble communicating with them because of the language barriers.

I must agree -- CA's website has to be one of the worse out of all hardware/software vendors' sites that I visit on a regular basis.
