Hello,
I shot some footage with a Sony Betacam SP and I plan on using a Sony Beta SP player and my Pinnacle DV500 capture card to capture my footage onto my PC. Here are a couple of questions I have before I begin:
1) For recording audio, I only used the Sony Betacam's onboard microphone and recorded in Channel 1 and Channel 2. What is the best way I should export the audio into the computer? The Beta player I'm using has individual XLR outputs for Channel 1 and Channel 2, and the DV500 has audio composite inputs. I heard that I needed some transformer for the XLR to convert into composite so the sound wouldn't be distorted.
2) My next question concerns video capture. There is obvious video pops and noise on the recorded footage. I know I need a Time Base Corrector to fix this problem, but I don't have access or the money for one for the amount of times I would need to rent it. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?
Also, what is the best way to capture my video with the DV500 and keep the optimal video quality with as little generation loss as possible. Memory is not a problem.
Thanks,
Billie
