Capture input/output text from a window

Hi Everyone,
I have a challenge for you all. I was wondering if there are
any articles/code/samples of getting the text inout and output from in outside window. I beleive this will have to
be done with windows api. I have started to research this, but wanted to get your opitions. I'm looking at writing a hidden app that will monitor AOL chats. If anyone has examples for this, that would be good also. I was thinking
of writing it so that it does a screen capture of the active screen every so many seconds (5sec for exxample) only when AOL is active/Running. But I'm worried that
this will slow down the system. But I'm willing to try this way out also. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Dimandja,
Actually I am. Its mainly to monitor that the kids are not getting involved with people they should not. I've seen logs before and I've not help anything against them. But I just want to make sure the kids stay safe.
