Capacitive screen recording multiple hits.... sometimes.

I have an old Par M5012-01 with a capacitive touch screen. Sometimes the screen operates fine, but sometimes I get multiple "hits" for a single touch. I've tried recalibrating, resetting the controller, doesn't seem to help. Sometimes a reboot helps, sometimes not. Any recommendations, please? TIA.

new drivers or maybe just reinstall the driver for the touch screen.. worth a try
