I am a newbie in this IPK system. Ihave an IPK with 8 CO lines. As I was programing the Headset on 16-button phones and have no problem. But when I started to do the same on some of our 8-button phones and the problem arose. As I have been programming with Mb 4-12 & MB 4-43 to assign the headset key and CAP on CO line 01 button. When I got out the program mode Icould get CO line number 08, but CO line 01 disappear and I can not get access from anywhere. Frustrated, I went into the program mode again and check back at trunk group assigned in MB 3 transfer 03. All the CO lines are in trunk group 01 and it should not be the problem. Did I do something wrong here? Please help me to get this straight. Thanks.

CAP keys are call appearance keys. Any line can appear on a CAP key. They work on a first call in/first call out basis and aren't specific to any one line.
Normally you use them when you have more lines than free keys. When you assign a CAP key, the first 2 digits you enter are the block. This is the number that refers to MB4-43. The next 2 are the actual CAP key number. Best thing to do is leave all the extensions in CAP block 00 in 4-43 and then assign each handset a DIFFERENT CAP key. IE: extension 105 has CAP00-01 and 106 has CAP00-02. Only problem is that every phone won't be able to see that specific key on every other extension so the customer will have to do a proper transfer to shift a call.

The reason you're running into problems is that you have no dedicated key for lines 1 and 8. When ever you use line 1 or 8, there is no where for the other one to appear.

Hope this makes sense...

Sharidan. It really works as you just said. Thanks a bunch.
