Recently I have had a company in to install a Firebrick 1.05 onto my network for security and secure remote access. Before this was installed I could view any web page with out exception, now it is installed it will not allow me to view certain websites for example I can view hp.co.uk but it will not allow me to view hp.com, i can't see msn, ebay or amazon along with a few others

The company who have installed it are a profesional outfit and are a registered reseller for this product and they are completly stuck. When I ping a website it does resolve but does not reply - it times out. They have tried removing the firebrick and the same thing happens even though they have not changed any of the computers.

Any ideas what the problem can be so i give them some suggestions??

Kuffs,

If we're talking about the same Firebrick as its purpose is to restrict network traffic based on certain criteria. This is the function of any firewall appliance.

Most likely, this particular firewall applicance is pre-configured with a restrictive set of policies by default. Either someone within your organization or the reseller's organization will need to change the configuration settings to match your company's written security policy.
