I just bought a new computer with an AMD Athlon XP1700 CPU which is more then capable of running what I need to do. Here are my problems which might be kind of long:
1) When I first installed ME, I had 2 error messages regarding HWinfo.exe and control.dll. I never had these problems before when installing ME on other computers.
2) I try to check my AOL mail using my IE browser and it keeps looping me back to the login screen. After a few loops, it brings me to an Error Occurred screen... we are having technical difficulties... But I am able to login through this method using other computers in my house.
3) As a result of problem 2, I tried using their download link on their site to begin the download of the program and that wouldn't even work.
4) As a result of problem 3, I went to grab a CD with the install for AOL 7.0. I got the white error box that said SETUP at the top and gave me the chance to CLOSE or IGNORE. I had to click IGNORE twice to get another error box that said Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE... CLOSE.
5) I had the same problem when I switched to my netscsape browser.
6) Installed Norton Utilities and Antivirus but could not use LiveUpdate to retreive their new updates.
Sorry that this is long but I've never encountered these problems ever either with old or new computers. Thanks for any help given. My specs are listed below.
