I am somewhat new to this, but here it goes. I am setting up a w2k server that allows sharing of the internet for 15 clients and vpn connection for home workers. I originally set it up with ICS and a regular vpn server, it worked fine. But for security resons I wanted to use NAT and the vpn server.

Problem- When I set up the NAT by itself it worked fine, but then I set up the VPN server and it stop letting me out to the internet through the nat clients or the server. I can't even ping a outside ip address.

Here are the details- public interface ( the ip address given to me from isp). I tell it to translate UDP/TCP

private interface(LAN) - 192.168.0.1/24

nat- dhcp 192.168.0.100- 192.168.200/24 and I tell it to resolve ip for clients.

vpn server- I set up dhcp relay w/ ip address of w2k server and I am using pptp

On general tab of properties page I have router checked with local area network routing only. I also have Remote access server checked.

If anyone has a solution it would be appreciate. Thanks

PS -Does the input filters of NAT work well?

Take a look at labmice.com search for rras and nat. Got a link to known issues. You have one of them, Microsoft says its by design, go figure. Good luck
