What tftp server are you writing to? Is the file created on the tftp server? If not create it. If it is linux/unis make sure the file has permissions for it to be written to.
I'm using Suse Linux 10. It's very weird. I open the firewall on the same Linux box to let the tftp service in, yet the tftp service says that the firewall is diabled. Nonetheless, you're right. I think I read somewhere that I have to create the file first. Tftp for windows is so much easier, but I'm trying to move away from them. Thanks.
