Need help uninstalling Kodak digital camera software. Originally installed EasyShare software from website. I tried using Control Panel Add/Remove tool but only got "error applying transforms" message after tool attempted to go to Kodak website. Reviewed a system log file and got following error message "DEBUG: error 2746: Transforms OTToOU invalid for package C:\WINDOWS\Installer\1023d9.msi. Expected product (00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7), found product (00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7)". Am running Win98SE on 1 GHz machine with 768MB RAM. Would really like to use digital camera but have to figure out how to uninstall software so I can get system to recognize camera. Kodak tech support no help (says it's Windows problem but reinstalling Win98SE didn't help). Attempted to use Windows Installer Utility but didn't solve problem(currently running ver 2.0). Please help.

By the sounds of it, make sure you have an internet connection open when you try to uninstall.

Failing that, have you tried to uninstall it from Safe Mode?

Failing that, I would go back to the web-site you installed the software from and re-install it again - over the top if needs be. Then reboot and try to uninstall it, making sure you have an open internet connection.

Regards.

Win98User,

Thanks for responding to my plea for help. Unfortunately I've tried all of the above options. When I try to uninstall EasyShare with an open internet connection I get the "error applying transforms" message and the instal/uninstall operation shuts down. I've tried to install over top of the existing application (or what's left of it) but it won't let me (the picture transfer software says there's an invalid page fault error and shuts down). I've also tried to edit the registry to delete all Kodak files but I've not had any success. Haven't tried to install/uninstall in Safe mode because Windows doesn't recognize my modem and I can't use it to dial into the server. Will give that a shot and see what happens. Would appreciate any other ideas/suggestions.

I had this problem also when I installed my Kodak camera. This worked for me anyway you might want to try it and see what happens.
click on run in the start menu and type the letter that contains the CD followed by \setup.exe.

for example d:\setup.exe

Hope this works for you it did for me

Debi,

Thanks for the tip. Not sure why it worked but it did. I had actually tried this approach before with one of Kodak's tech support guys and it bombed. Today, however, it worked and I'm now up and running Picture Transfer ver 1.4 (for the moment) with the camera.
