A call is answered by the receptionist and she is able to transfer the caller to guest mailbox 404. no problem.

But when the call is answered by the AA, caller presses "0" , goes to the operator (same receptionist). She cannot transfer the caller to guest mailbox 404. Message= invalid extention. She can transfer to valid extentions (e.g.224)

Suggestions? gm

Is she doing a transfer (F70) or Transfer to Voicemail (F986)? Sounds like she is transferring instead of 'voicemail transferring'.

Have her press Feature 986, then enter 404. Should work then. You can't do a direct transfer to 404 since it isn't a physical phone extension.

I finally figured this out. We have one line on the system that is used solely for users to call in and check messages. It's answered immediately by the AA. It does not appear on any telephones. Sooo, when 0 is pressed the call rings in at staion 221 on the INTERCOM button. F986 is not accepted. The fix was to assign the line to "appear only" on a line button at 221. Now F986 works for all mailboxes.

biv343....thanks for your response. gm
