I am having trouble sending outgoing mail in Outlook express for Windows NT 4.0. I get the error message
"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server." How can I fix this problem?
Thank you
Arica

Your server probably requires authentication.
Tools-Accounts-Mail
Select your account and click Properties
Click Servers tab
Check 'My server requires authentication'

If you send messages under other name and password than when you receive, click Settings, check Logon using and indicate your user name and password.

Good luck

This behaviour usually occurs when you're trying to send an email through a server that doesn't allow relaying or you don't have the necessary permissions to send emails.

If you have a company server and you're trying to send an email from outside the company, the server denies the service to avoid spammers to use it as a 'gateway'.

Talk to the system administrator or ISP to solve the problem...
