I set up a public folder to receive emails. When I send emails from outside our network to folder@mydomain.com the go to the folder no problem. If I try using Outlook sending email internally to the same address I get the error

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
<MAIL1.mydomain.com #5.1.1>

Try going to the Exchange Advanced tab in the properties for that public folder and unchecking the box that says "Hide from Global Address Book." And then use the GAL-resolvable name (not the schmek@smack.com style address) when you are sending mail to the folder internally. So you'd just type the name of the folder in the "To" field instead of the full email addy.

Let us know if that works.

OK, Here's the deal. I set up a new folder "testmail" and did everything the same, it works fine. I think the problem is that I created and then deleted the original public folder twice, now there's probably some crap in active directory that's making it not work. The problem is, I would like to use the original folder name. Any way you know of to fix this?

Still not working. If I use the email name without the domain I get the same error. The name is even resolved in the GAL but it still fails with the same error. Is this because the X400 address is used for internal mail and somehow this address is screwed up? Is there a way for me to verify/edit the address to correct it? TIA

Hmmm....have you tried creating a mailbox and having all incoming email forwarded to the Public Folder?
