Can't See Domain Users. Why?

I'm trying to add and configure a domain user to use a local instance of SQL Server, but when I try to add the user, it says it can't see the domain in the "location".

In fact, the only "location" it sees is my local machine.

Does anyone know possibilities why I can't see my domain when adding SQL Server users (through Windows integrated security)?

Is the machine a member of the domain? Are domain accounts able to log into the server?

Yes.

I'm told it is probably a DNS issue as we're having big problems with that.

That is very possible. DNS needs to be working correctly in order to talk to the domain to get the list of users.
