I have a machine running Win95 and I can't save the password for my connection because it's been ghosted out.

I've searched the registry for a solution but I can't find anything.

Any idea's? Ahdkaw

Do you mean your Internet/Email password? If so you will need to log onto Windows at startup, so your other passwords can be saved in a password file. If you do log on and it still happens, you will need to delete the .pwl file (starting with the first part of your windows user name), in the Windows directory because it has probably become corrupted. After rebooting it will automatically recreate the .pwl file and you will have to re-enter all your Internet passwords, but there should now be an option to remember them.

Follow the information from paulwood but make sure that when you start your computer that you use the logon screen because if you do not log on it has no where to save your passwords and any other stuff you may want to save like setting and etc. Hopefully this helps. Good Luck!!

It won't let you save passwords on Dial-up Networking connections even though it seems like it should from that "save password" check box. It's security in an undocumented Microsoft format!

Enjoy )

Ahha! Thanks for everyone's help.

I was meaning my dialup password as you all correctly assumed. On that particular machine there is no login prompt for windows, so I'll get that set up.

Thanks again :) Ahdkaw
