Cant Print or Save

Using XP Pro SP2
Office 2000 SP3

When I try to print or save a word document the timer comes up and I get the message 'Windows not responding'. Any suggestions.

Have you tried the "Detect And Repair" option under the Help menu?

Thanks for the suggestion - it is a sensible one.
However it turned out that there was a network communication problem with the laptop and the printer - resolution. The laptop was not able to communicate with the printer due to some strange DNS Resolution issue. I could ping the printer, but the setup was a network install. I did a local printer install and created a network port using the priner IP address to get them talking.
