Cant open CSV in Excel 2002 ???

Since installing office XP (Sp2) on Win2K (sp3) client I cannot open a CSV file that exists on our network. I get an error indicating the file "cannot be accessed or it may be in a read only location". I can rename the same csv file with xls or txt as the extension in the same network location and it opens just fine with Excel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

Windows explorer.
Tools-Folder options.
View tab.
Find CSV files.
What are they set to open with?

Um...that one might be lame. I don't know what I was thinking. But try this too: From Excel, Tools-Options, General tab. Uncheck "ignore other apps..." Anne Troy
