Here's an odd one.

User “A” is having problems e-mailing an attachment from a specific shared folder on the network. If he opens OUTLOOK, opens a new mail document, composes his text, clicks on the paper clip to make an attachment he gets the following error:
Microsoft Outlook
Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again.

User “A” has plenty of memory and resources.

The path to this document is through a mapped drive on the network called Q: drive (Q:\Department a\JLShared\plans for 2003\Correspondence (Memos-Letters)\Exhibitor\Letters \ hull.doc

If however you have the user drill down through the share (not via Outlook) and right click on the document and select SEND, Outlook will open and make the hull.doc an attachment.

User “B” shares the same files and can make the attachment via Outlook from her own computer. When she moves over to User “A”s PC, bam, she can't do it either, unless she selects SEND TO (not via Outlook).

If User "A" copies the hull.doc from the network back to his PC, the attachement will work through outlook as long as the file is local

Any idea's on what the problem might be ?

Both User have NT4, sp6, Office 97, Outlook 98

Problem solved. The drill down to the location was very long and it had some reserved charecter in it. We renamed the problem spots and everything worked. The example posted here was not the real deal due to obvious reasons. User used "." and "( )" and other no no's

Thanks
