I've just finished installing a test server for our company with Sharepoint Portal Server 2003. I followed all the steps accordingly from the Users help guide. Then when I try to connect from my Windows XP workstation I get the You are not authorized to view this page error. It asks me 3 times for my user name and password and that's when I get the page error. Funny thing though is that I went to a Windows 2000 pro workstation and it worked just fine. What could the problem be?

Hello,

On the Win XP machine, in your webbrowser, have you tried to add the url to the sharepoint site under trusted sites. Are you using a proxy server? have you added the url as an exeption there?

I have experienced the same problems, we are using proxy servers and users sometimes have problems accessing the site and then we need to add the url as a trusted site and also add an exception in the proxy list.

Don't know if this helped you anything..

Regards,
Thomas
