This is the first time we have attempted to use inotes. Some users can login some can't. When a user enters the web address in the browser it opens up the login box and at that point "You are not authorized to perform this operation" is displayed in the server console before a login is attempted. When you attempt to login you get "User not authenticated"

Using Dominon5.0.11.

I guess I need to set a permission somewhere but not sure where. If this is so then that might answer the question of how to disallow users use of inotes?

It might be that those users who cannot connect have not configured an HTTP password in their Person document in the server NAB.

Pascal.

The password had been set and I reset it then tryed it a few hours later and still get the You are not authorized to perform this operation when the login box appears.

Are you using a database like Webmailredirect (WMR612) or iwaredir .nsf to login through?. A group that includes all iNotes users needs to be granted reader access in the ACL of that file I believe.

Hi MarkP,

No not using either Webmailredirect or iwaredir. Inotes or webmail were never used here. I did a load http and changed the templates for my user and then did and I can use either short name or full username and I can log in no problem. I have tried this with a few users and some can and some can't. The ones thats can't always get the error before a login attempt is made, the error comes when you enter the web address.

Ok I got it sorted, after resetting a few passwords I got more and more users on. Then the main one I was working on had a corrupt mail file so I had recreated the user with a different mail file but was trying to access the old mail file which had no password set, that was the one that threw me. Thanks for your help [pipe]
