On my network I have many 98 machines. They all log on just fine except one. If I power this machine up and try to log in right away it will not find the domain. If I give it five minutes with the machine just sitting their with a log on box and then log in .. it has no trouble finding the domain. Has anyone incountered this problem before if so how do I correct it?

Thanks

Using dns, dhcp, wins etc? How you set up? Glen A. Johnson

Make sure that the rogue computer has its primary DNS server in TCP/IP set your your DCs IP.

The machine is running on DHCP. Where should I go from here?

So you've got no dns, wins, etc? Check under C:\Windows and see if you have a hosts and lmhosts file. (Not hosts.sam or lmhosts.sam. These are samples) If you don't, try creating an lmhosts file with the servers listed.)

I would reinstall the protocals. TCP/IP ect.. Might not fix it but its an easy step to take and besides it might work. I say this cause of a problem I encountered on a win2k machine what was slow on the network and after reinstalling tcp/ip protocal it was fine.
