I'm trying to install the Tk module for the ActiveState binary build 628, running on W2K Professional.
'search Tk' in ppm turns up Tk-widget, Tk-wadget, Tk-wedget, Tk-wudget, etc., etc., but not Tk itself (with or without trailing version numbers).
I've tried downloading a binary from which WinZip unpacked just fine, and which I believe I positioned correctly within C:\Perl\lib, except it doesn't include a Tk.ppd file.
I've tried 'set rep default which gives me the same package list I got before (lotsa wadgets and wedgets).
In all cases, 'ppm install Tk' or 'ppm install Tk.ppd' returns "Error installing package 'Tk': Could not locate a PPD file for package Tk".
Can someone tell me what totally obvious bonehead thing I'm missing?
Thanks
