cant load new fonts - win98 (2nd ed.)

i'm trying to load new ttf fonts into my win98 2nd edition - but it doesn't see them. i took the zip file with the fonts - unzipped it, copy and pasted the TTF files into my windows/fonts directory and MS word excel... won't see them - nor will any other applications...

any ideas?

You need to install the fonts, not copy them. Open the fonts control panel then use file, install new fonts. [sig][/sig]

I had a similar problem just last night. I was trying to reinstall the default Win98 fonts and I could not get the TrueType fonts to install.

Assuming that you are in fact installing the fonts (not copying them as suggested by the previous response) you might need to check out KBase article Q133732 at the Microsoft site.

Once I ran fontreg I was able to install the fonts successfully.
