I can't link cells in Excel 2000 to web pages I'm looking at in Netscape 7.2. The linking works if I'm looking at a page in IE, but with Netscape, they simply don't appear in the "Browsed Pages" list in the Excel "Insert Hyperlink Window".

After I've made a link (using IE), clicking on it will open up the web page in Netscape, since that's my default browser.

I don't care for IE very much, and keep away from it as much as possible, so does anyone know how to link Excel to web pages when using IE?

I'm not sure what you are saying, but you can copy and paste the web address into Insert-Hyperlink, or you can click Web Page to navigate to it.

Somehow, the reply I sent (or thought I sent) to sawedoff's comment a couple of weeks ago must have gotten lost in the mail, but my problem remains.

To elucidate:

1. If I copy a URL, there is no way that I can paste it into the blank space for "Type the file or web page name" that appears with InsertHyperlink. (With IE, apparently if I open the InsertHyperlink window in Excel, go to IE, call a webpage, and go back to Excel, the link appears in the blank space. Not so with Netscape.)

2. The list of browsed pages in the InsertHyperlink window in Excel shows only the pages browsed using IE, not Netscape.

3. On the Excel InsertHyperlink window, if I press the "Browse for Web Page" button, I get an Excel error window that says "An error Occurred while browsing files".

Has anyone managed to insert a hyperlink in Excel using Netscape?

I am having somewhat similar problem with Excel's hyperlinks as yalamo.

1) Earlier I have had working hyperlinks in Excel's cells, I was able to open associated URL's even with Netcsape 7.2.

2) Somehow I have a feeling that after I installed Mozilla, those links stopped working and now I receive the very same error message, when I am trying to re-create those links. And it does not help even I have already uninstalled Mozilla. So, does this Mozilla installation have anything to do with this problem?
