Whenever I try to link a specific table from a SQL dB into Access, I receive this error: __________ is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long.

The field that is bombing does not contain any punctuation and was working fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sorry ... it was hd_incident.ds_order_dt

Thanks.

Hi

I am not an expert on acceptable names for linked SQL Server tables, but it does have a dot (.) in it, is that acceptable?

Sorry (again) ... the table name is hd_incident and the field name is ds_order_dt ... there's actually no period in the field name but, for some reason, Access just won't accept it. It's really frustrating!!!
