Hello,

I have a problem with my database project. If I have the program open, other users get a message box saying that they can't open the program because the file is already in use. If others are in the database, I can open it but no exclusively which makes sense but it DOES still allow me to open it. I am assuming this has to do with me being the administrator but I dont know much about the accounts.

Should I delete myself from the group (I'm not sure it is even set correctly it just has my name typed into the group) or should I add someone? Can somone please steer me in the right direction or maybe there is a good article you could recommend?

Thank you

Sorry to have posted......I discovered that when I opened the database it was defaulting to exclusive mode. THanks though!

hey i have the same problem....
whenever a second user is trying to open the access form it says that the exceldatabase is exclusively opened by some other user,
How did u resolve this?
Please help

As noted in the thread you posted about this, sonijp, excel spreadsheets are not like access databases; they are not made for multi-user access. Can the spreadsheets and use Access to store your data.
