I purchased the product following a trial of Norton internet security which worked perfectly. Yes all updates for OS and Symantec products are in place.
NAV Version is 9.05.15
XP version is 5.1.2600 SP1
My problem is a bit different, when I try to start Auto-Protect I receive error dialog 4002,517(nothing else). Symantec site provides 3 potential solutions for this error.
1)Registry edit (did not apply as my registry had no entry).
2)Uninstall/Reinstall in clean boot environment. (performed twice! scouring the registry for all symantec/norton related entries post successful uninstall prior to reinstall)
3)Timing conflict with other programs on startup. (Using msconfig, have setup and started only the symantec/norton items. I believe this tells me that there is a conflict with a component in the OS itself.
Have performed all three of the above steps carefully and methodically...the problem remains, Auto-Protect will not start! all other features of NAV work fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
