We were forced to go to exchange 2000 because we were bring up a new domain and our 5.5 didn't make the cut over. We are laking in training on exchange 2000. We are learning fast.

We built a new 2K server made it a DC and put 2K server system files on C: about 8 gig. We built a D: with the rest of the drive space. We installed exchange on the D: and everything was working. We could send and recieve. So we went into the users and created emailboxes and went around to almost everyone in the center and pointed their outlook to the new server. everything was great.

I came in today and email was down. The event viewer has errors of course and it's looking for stuff on M:.
Reading some post I see that there is supposed to be a M:.
I don't remember a M: and if I used all the space on D: then how could it create one.
What are my options.
Thanks

RC

It would be a tremendous help if you posted what errors you're getting. The M:\ drive is a virtual drive created by Exchange. Odds are your Exchange services have failed, but without the specific errors, it's difficult for us to help you.

Oh Crud!!!
I just read that you are not suppose to backup the M:
I look at the backup job log from backup exec and it indead tried to backup a M:

What do I do?
What do I do?

I trying to remain positive. The only thing that I'm positive about is going back to sacking groceries. At least when the bottom falls out you can just grab a mop. I wonder if Kurt Warner will be there?

Sorry losing my mind.
Any help would be great.

Thanks Lander that makes sence. Do you have any links to fix what damage my backup might have caused.

Well, since you won't provide any specific error information from your logs, I'm afraid I'd be shooting in the dark on this and I just won't do that, sorry.
